Tickets still available for Soledad O'Brien lunch on Friday

Tickets remain for Friday's Broadcast Committee's Prime Time lunch with Soledad O'Brien.

O'Brien's career in journalism has evolved as the way we gather and consume news and information has changed. Perhaps best known for her role as anchor and documentary host on CNN and NBC, she formed the Starfish Media Group in 2013 to produce and distribute stories that she said she felt most passionate about. She is also a reporter for HBO RealSports and Al Jazeera, and an anchor for National Geographic Bee.

Born to Afro-Cuban and Irish parents, she has championed diversity in her career. O’Brien’s “Black in America” series on CNN was extremely successful and remains one of the network’s highest rated programs. She continues to produce it through SMG.

“I think everything and everyone has a story," she said. "The way to make things relevant for people is to explain it in a story.”

Hear Soledad O’Brien’s story and join in an informal conversation with her at the Prime Time lunch. It begins at 11:45 a.m. The program will start at noon. Tickets are $18 and includes lunch buffet, iced tea, coffee service and tax/gratuity.
