Supermodel Kim Alexis signs up as 5K sponsor

Supermodel Kim Alexis, who appeared on the covers of more than 500 magazines and in Sports Illustrated, will run in the National Press Club's 14th Annual Beat the Deadline 5K race on Saturday, June 11.

Alexis has run in five New York marathons and is a speaker on health and wellness issues for women. She joins 5K race marshals Tony Horton, creator of P90X, and Suzanne Malveaux, anchor of CNN Newsroom.

Among the top models of the 1980s along with Carol Alt, Christie Brinkley, and Iman, Alexis was host of TV LAND's "She's Got the Look," was a fashion editor on "Good Morning America," hosted Family Channel’s "Healthy Kids" and hosted Time Warner's syndicated "Your Mind and Body."

She also appeared in the 1998 movie “Holy Man” with Eddie Murphy and in the last episode of “Cheers,” "One for the Road.”
