State Department innovation advisor Ross featured at "Social Media 4 Social Good"; 7 p.m. April 3

The April 3 session of NPC's "Social Media 4 Social Good" will feature Alec Ross, senior advisor for innovation to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The event begins at 7 p.m.

Foreign Policy magazine last year named Ross a "Top Global Thinker" and Politico in 2010 named her one of 50 Politicos to Watch, describing her as one of “five people who are bringing transformative change to the government.”

At the State Department, Ross leverages new media in innovative ways to address international human rights violations, poverty and diplomacy

“If Paul Revere had been a modern citizen, he wouldn’t have ridden down Main Street. He would have tweeted,” Ross says.

The “Social Media 4 Social Good” series highlights the strategists and entrepreneurs who are using social media to make positive contributions to the world. The series is sponsored by the Young Members Committee and is hosted by Monica Gray.

Tickets to this event are free for members and $5 for non-members.
