Dodd-Frank regulator prepares National Press Club luncheon speech for May 15

Gary Gensler, chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and a key implementer of the sweeping Dodd-Frank financial reform law, plans to speak at a National Press Club luncheon on May 15.

Tickets are $19 for Press Club members, $30 for their guests and $37 for general admission. To reserve tickets please email [email protected] or call 202-662-7501. Credentialed press may cover this event with proper ID.

The luncheon will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. and Gensler’s remarks will begin at 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 2 p.m.

Dodd-Frank, which sets up the most comprehensive regulatory changes of financial markets since the Great Depression, has drawn withering criticism for its far-reaching efforts to prevent another financial crisis. Gensler’s agency is at the center of rules involving the trading of derivatives and other complex financial instruments.

To submit a question in advance, put GENSLER in the subject line and email it to [email protected] before 10 a.m. the day of the luncheon.
