Panel to discuss reporting behind Panama Papers on Thursday

Journalists involved in reporting on the Panama Papers will discuss their project at a National Press Club Journalism Institute program from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday

Club President Tommy Burr will moderate a panel that includes Marina Walker Guevara, deputy director of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists; Will Fitzgibbon, ICIJ reporter; and Kevin Hall, McClatchy's chief economics correspondent.

The program will be in the Bloomberg Room. RSVP using the link here (http://www.press.org/events/panama-papers-global-investigation-secretive-industry-offshore-hidden-assets). Tickets are required; $5 for Club members, $10 for the general public.

The panel will discuss the reporting behind the leak of 11.5 million financial records from Mossack Fonseca, one of the world's top creators of shell companies. The investigation prompted resignations, arrests and official inquiries in several countries and showed how journalists around the world can work collaboratively on stories of global significance and multiply their impact.
