NPC Movie Preview: "Of Gods and Men", Winner of Cannes Grand Prize, March 8

Based on the book by local author and historian, John Kiser, Of Gods and Men tells the true story of a group of French Cistercian Trappist monks caught up in the violence of Algeria’s civil war in the 1990s. The New York Times describes the film as a "beautiful, somber and rigorously intelligent new film by the French director Xavier Beauvois."

The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. on March 8 at the West End Cinema, 2301 N Street NW. Following the film, Kiser will answer questions about the events portrayed in the film.
