Nigerian Presidential Candidate, 3 pm Feb. 16

Patrick Okedinachi Utomi, a reform candidate in Nigeria's April presidential elections, will speak at a Newsmaker at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16.

Utomi, who is challening incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan, will outline his platform of job creation, accountability in politics and election reform. In addition, he will discuss the evolving Nigerian-Chinese relationship, including what he calls "the risk of heightened Nigerian dependence on China" and Chinese "business incursions" into Nigeria.

Utomi also will analyze the implications of recent popular uprisings in North Africa and the Mideast for Nigeria and other sub-Sahara nations.
