Podcasting 101 class moves to bigger room to satisfy demand, May 15

If you’ve ever wanted to try podcasting but aren’t quite sure where to begin, join the National Press Club Journalism Institute’s introduction to podcasting class at 9:30 a.m. Monday, May 15.

After the class quickly sold out following the initial announcement, it was moved to a bigger room to accommodate the demand. Tickets are $5 for Club members and $10 for the general public. Online registration is required.

Taught by Molly McCluskey, a former Club board member and member of the Club's Podcasting Team, the class will run from 9:30 - 11 a.m. in the Zenger Room.

Using the Club’s Update-1 podcast as a model, McCluskey will teach the basics of podcasting, from selecting a topic and preparing and conducting the interview to tips on best practices and putting your guest (and yourself!) at ease in front of a microphone.

The class will end with a tour of the Club’s podcasting facilities, and information on joining the Club’s Podcasting Team.

McCluskey is an award-winning journalist whose work has appeared in The Atlantic, the Washington Post, Al Jazeera English and many more. She’s hosted a travel radio show on FNTX and has been a regular guest on both radio and podcast segments. She has also trained several Club members in podcasting best practices.
