Hungarian wine dinner planned for Fourth Estate Restaurant Sept. 27

the Fourth Estate will host a six-course wine dinner with the Embassy of Hungary featuring traditional Hungarian dishes and Hungarian wines on Tuesday, Sept. 27.

Featured items include roasted venison, perch fillet with dill mushroom sauce, appetizers such as pogásca (savory cheese biscuits) and a traditional Hungarian dessert, somlói (sponge cake dumplings). Hungarian wines will be matched with each course.

The dinner begins with cocktails and appetizers at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7. It will kick off a week’s worth of activities throughout the U.S. marking the 60th anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian revolution. The Soviet Union then sent tanks into Hungary to quash its fledgling democracy.

Hungarian Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Péter Szijjártó will introduce a short film about Hungary and Ambassador Dr. Réka Szemerkényi will discuss events planned for the commemoration.
