Hoot it up with the legendary Mark Russell at the Silver Owl Spring Hoot, May 3

Mark Russell, the legendary political satirist, humorist, and musician will highlight the 2016 Silver Owl Spring Hoot at the National Press Club on Tuesday, May 3. Given the state of the presidential campaign this year and the candidates involved, Russell certainly does not lack for comedic materiel.

Russell, who has displayed his many talents at the Press Club on several occasions, is a past recipient of "Order of the Owl" status by the Council of Wisest Owls. Now 83, Russell retired in 2010, but returned to the stage three years later. There was just too much going on to stay silent, he says.

In addition to Russell's performance, the Hoot also will recognize new Silver, Gold and Platinum Owls, those folks who have been Press Club members for 25, 50, and 60 years.

The Hoot, which is open to all Press Club members and guests, begins with a 6:30 p.m. cash bar cocktail reception. Dinner will be served at 7:30. The cost is $35 per person.
