Hone your speaking skills at Toastmasters Tonight

Practice different speaking styles –- extemporaneous and planned, humorous and serious – and develop your leadership skills at Toastmasters at the National Press Club.

The next meeting is at 7 p.m. tonight, and is open to Club members and the public. Toastmasters meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month.

Toastmasters also serves as a platform to practice delivering a policy piece or other technical speech. You’ll be amazed at the things people do and know.

Recent stories included precision flying a helicopter from Maine to Virginia –- in bad weather, no less -- and how a friendship developed when a young waitress introduced herself to Maya Angelou, who was dining in a restaurant.

If you like a good story and want to expand your own talents, please come and be our guest and see what Toastmasters is all about.
