Girl Scout CEO to discuss scouting as route to female leadership, June 13

Anna Maria Chavez, the CEO of the Girl Scouts, will talk about grooming the next generation of female leaders through scouting at a National Press Club Luncheon on Monday, June 13.

How do you help break glass ceilings? How do you get more women in C-suites and board rooms? Start young!

Chavez was recently named one of the top 50 leaders in the world by Fortune Magazine. She’s coming to Washington, D.C. to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scout's highest honor, the Gold Award. Girl scouts devote as much as two years in a community service project they design in order to earn the award, developing their leadership skills and providing a benefit to their communities. But the prestigious award is not nearly as well known as the Boy Scout’s Eagle Scout ranking.

Join the conversation and get your ticket now. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., with remarks beginning at 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $24 for Press Club members (Club Members may purchase two tickets at this rate) and $38 for all other non-member tickets. Tickets may be purchased online here. For questions, please email [email protected] or call (202) 662 – 7501. Tickets must be paid for at the time of purchase.
