Former Interior Secretary Babbitt to propose new energy policy, Feb. 5

Former Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt will unveil a proposal to translate the current energy boom into sustainable economic growth at a National Press Club Newsmaker press conference at noon Tuesday, Feb. 5.

Babbitt will discuss opportunities for the Obama Administration to implement new energy and conservation strategies while also protecting iconic landscapes. Babbitt's plan comes amid growing attention to domestic oil and gas development.

Newsmakers are open to Club members and working journalists.
