Former Afghan cabinet member to speak on women and human rights in Afghanistan

Sima Samar, Chair of the Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission and a former member of the Afghan cabinet, will speak at a Newsmaker at noon on Wednesday, March 7.

Samar, an advocate for women’s rights, will address the issues faced by Afghan women and the human rights situation in Afghanistan in light of the imminent departure of the United States and other international forces.
