Figure skating champion Yamaguchi introduces children's book, 2 pm March 10

Figure skating superstar Kristi Yamaguchi will discuss her new children’s book, "It’s a Big World, Little Pig!," at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10, in the National Press Club ballroom as part of the Club's Book & Author series.

Tickets are free for Club members and $5 for all member guests and non-members. Tickets can be purchased here.

Poppy, the adorable, persistent, dreaming-big pig, has a new adventure in store for her – the World Games ice skating championship in Paris!

Poppy is nervous about meeting so many new people in a new place. But, ever courageous and supported by her family, Poppy embarks upon this exciting adventure head-on. Poppy begins to realize that although these animals look different, act different and are from different places, they are all the same at heart.

Following her figure skating victories at the 1992 Winter Olympics and World Championships, Yamaguchi skated professionally for more than a decade. In 2008, she was named the winner of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.

Yamaguchi will sign copies of the book purchased through the Club or at the event, following the author discussion. This event is a fundraiser for the National Press Club Journalism Institute. No outside books or memorabilia will be permitted.
