Annual freelance workshop scheduled for June 10

The Freelance Committee's annual workshop is scheduled for Friday, June 10.

A program on writing for trade publications will begin at 1 p.m., followed by a panel starting at 3 p.m. focusing on social media. The event is free for club members and $10 for non-members.

Randy Lilleston, editor-in-chief, Industry Dive. Lilleston has been editor of Industry Dive, a Washington-based all-digital business-to-business news startup, for the past two years. He has more than 20 years of experience in digital news, and has held senior-level editing positions at NPR, USA Today, CNN and Congressional Quarterly. Twitter handle: @RLilleston

John Scorza, associate editor, HR Magazine. Before coming to SHRM, Scorza e was an editor at the Thompson Publishing Group, where he wrote and edited articles on employee benefits issues. For several years, he was with CCH in Washington, where he covered Congress, the Supreme Court and federal agencies, reporting on a broad range of business and workplace issues. Tammy Lytle, freelance writer and editor. A past president of the Club, Lytle covered the nation's capital for the New Haven Register and Orlando Sentinel. She now freelances for magazines, newspapers and websites. Twitter handle: @nottoolatemom
 
Anne Cassidy, senior writer/editor at Winrock International. Cassidy is senior writer editor at Winrock International, a nonprofit development firm with projects around the world. Before joining Winrock in April, she was acting executive director of communications at Georgetown University Law Center, where she edited the law magazine for 10 years.
