“South African Night: The Life, Legacy and Values of Nelson Mandela.”
The event will include remarks by South African Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool; Edward Perkins, the first black U.S. ambassador to be sent to South Africa from 1986 to 1989; a panel discussion on Mandela’s “Life, Legacy and Values,” followed by a Q&A session, and a tasting of South African wines and cuisine.
The panel includes Charlene Smith, the author of the biography, “Mandela: In Celebration of a Great Life,” and a newly published book, “Mandela and America.”
