The Panama Papers: A Global Investigation into the Secretive Industry of Offshore Hidden Assets

Journalists involved in one of the most wide-ranging data reporting efforts will discuss their project at an NPC Journalism Institute program on May 12, 2016.

The panel will discuss the reporting behind the largest leak in journalism's history: 11.5 million financial records from Mossack Fonseca, one of the world's top creators of shell companies. The investigation prompted resignations, arrests and official inquiries in several countries. It also proved that investigative journalists -- 376 of them in 80 countries in this case -- can work collaboratively on scoops of global significance and multiply their impact.

Panelists include:

Marina Walker Guevara, ICIJ deputy director

Will Fitzgibbon, ICIJ reporter

Kevin Hall, Chief Economics Correspondent (McClatchy)

Tommy Burr, NPC President and Washington correspondent for The Salt Lake Tribune, will moderate.

The program will run from 9.30am – 11am in the Bloomberg Room. RSVP using the form below. Tickets are required; $5 for NPC members, $10 for the general public.
