NPC Luncheon

Thomas R. Frieden, M.D., director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, will report on major health issues and challenges at a Tuesday, Sept. 10, National Press Club luncheon.

A part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services since 1946, CDC is charged with protecting public health and safety via the control and prevention of disease, injury and disability. It focuses on infectious disease, food-borne pathogens, environmental health, occupational safety and health and health promotion. The CDC also researches and provides information on non-infections diseases, such as obesity and diabetes.

The luncheon will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. Remarks will begin at 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $21 for Club members and one guest. Tickets are $35 for non-members.

Club members who wish to attend the pre-luncheon reception must RSVP separately to [email protected] 48 hours before the event. Space may be limited. You must have a paid reservation to the luncheon to attend the VIP reception.
