President Jacob Zuma of South Africa will be the guest at a National Press Club Speakers Luncheon at 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 4, in the Ballroom.

Zuma, who was first elected president in 2009 and re-elected in 2014, will speak on the eve of the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit in Washington August 5 to 6.

His appearance at the NPC coincides with the approaching 20th anniversary of Nelson Mandela speaking at the Club on Oct. 7, 1994 following his election as the first president of South Africa elected through a fully representative democratic process involving all segments of the country’s society.

The Press Club luncheon will begin promptly at 1:30 p.m. Remarks will begin at 2 p.m, followed by a question and answer session ending at 3 p.m. The cost of luncheon admission is $22 for NPC members ( NPC Members may purchase 2 tickets at this rate) , and $36 for non-members. NPC Members who wish to attend the 1:00 pm pre- luncheon reception must RSVP separately to [email protected] no later than 48 hours before the event. Space may be limited. You must have a paid reservation to the Luncheon to attend the VIP reception
