NPC Luncheon

Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX), candidate for the GOP presidential nomination, will discuss his strategies to deal with many of the nation’s problems at a National Press Club luncheon on Oct. 5. Paul’s campaign gained a boost on Aug. 13 when he placed a close second to Michele Bachmann in the Ames, Iowa, straw poll.

In mid-July, Paul announced he would not seek another term in Congress to focus on winning the Republican nomination. Considered by some as the “intellectual godfather” of the Tea Party movement, Paul calls for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to a monetary system based on the gold standard.

Paul represents the 14th Congressional district of Texas, serves on the House Foreign Affairs and the Financial Services committees, and chairs the Subcommittee on Domestic and Monetary Policy. He is a physician specializing in obstetrics/gynecology and has authored several books, including The Revolution: A Manifesto, End the Fed, Liberty Defined, Challenge to Liberty; The Case for Gold; and A Republic, If You Can Keep It.

The Oct. 5 Press Club luncheon will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. Remarks will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session. This event is sold out.
