Dr. Tom Frieden, director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, will address the Zika virus outbreak at a May 26 National Press Club speaker luncheon.

Frieden, who has led the CDC since 2009, will discuss the latest research and forecasts, as scientists at the CDC and other leading health-related organizations are working around the clock to better understand and address the virus tied to birth defects.

Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., with remarks beginning at 1 p.m., followed by a Q&A session ending at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $24 for National Press Club members and one guest, and $38 for non-members. For questions, please email [email protected] or call (202) 662-7501.

NPC members who wish to attend the pre-luncheon reception must RSVP separately to [email protected] at least 48 hours in advance. Space may be limited. You must have a paid reservation to the luncheon to attend the VIP reception.

To submit a question in advance, put NPCCDC in the subject line and email to [email protected] before the day of the luncheon.
