NPC Luncheon

As the House and Senate negotiate the final version of legislation to “repeal and replace” the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, House Freedom Caucus Chairman Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC-11) will speak at a National Press Club Headliners Luncheon on Monday, July 24 in the Club’s Holeman Lounge.

The Freedom Caucus was a major player during the House of Representative’s original consideration of healthcare legislation. Chairman Meadows will provide an inside look at the House Freedom Caucus discussing the inner-workings of the Caucus, its deliberations, philosophical approach to issues, and some other aspects that never made headlines.

Rep. Meadows is in his third term in Congress and has been serving North Carolina’s Eleventh District since January 2013, after a 27-year career as a small business owner. He serves on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee where he chairs the Government Operations Subcommittee. He also serves on the House Foreign Affairs, and Transportation and Infrastructure Committees.

Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., with remarks beginning at 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $25 for Press Club members (members may purchase two tickets at this rate) and $39 for all other non-member tickets. For questions, please email [email protected] or call (202) 662–7501. Tickets must be paid for at the time of purchase.

NPC Members who wish to attend the pre-luncheon reception must RSVP separately to [email protected] 48 hours before the event. Space may be limited. You must have a paid reservation to the Luncheon to attend the VIP reception.

To submit a question in advance, put MEADOWS in the subject line and email to [email protected] up until 10 a.m. on the day of the luncheon.
