National Press Club Communicators Summit to Focus on Creating and Delivering Effective Content in the Era of 'Fake News'

On Wednesday, October 18, the National Press Club will host its annual Communicators’ Summit at the National Press Club, First Amendment Lounge, 529 14th Street, NW -- 13th floor.

This year’s theme is “Content is King.” Leading experts will share insights on producing content suited to the unique strengths of different digital, online and social media channels, as well as emerging technologies. We’ll discuss the challenges of developing credible and compelling content at a time when trust in corporations, government, NGO’s and the media is being tested more than any time in a generation.

8:30-9:00 a.m. – Registration/Networking/Continental Breakfast

9:00-9:05 a.m. – Welcome remarks

9:05-10:20 a.m. – Session I: Content Bootcamp

This session will offer current insights into the ‘blocking and tackling’ of content strategy, generation, and distribution channels. Learn some of the best practices today. Case studies will be presented, followed by Q&A.

The session will explore how communications professionals can be trusted sources of information in an age of unfiltered delivery in which factual content is not always evident. In other words, how to deliver your organization’s message effectively and credibly in the age of “fake news!”

NPC President, Jeff Ballou, will host and moderate the conversation with Mr. Edelman.
