Longtime CBS and NBC journalist Marvin Kalb will discuss at the National Press Club on Thursday, Nov. 20, the ways in which the Vietnam War has impacted presidential decision-making in the years since its end.
The event will be part of the nation's official commemoration of the 50th anniversary of major events in the Vietnam War. Kalb is the author of two books on the subject, "The Road to War: Presidential Commitments Honored and Betrayed" and "Haunting Legacy: Vietnam and the American Presidency from Ford to Obama."
Kalb was the founding director of the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics, and Public Policy at Harvard University. He also hosts the "Kalb Report," a televised program on media ethics and responsibility at the National Press Club.
