NPC Book Event

Best-selling author Alexander McCall Smith will discuss his new book, “The Limpopo Academy of Private Detection: No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency (13)” at his only appearance in Washington, D.C.

McCall Smith will sign copies of “The Limpopo Academy of Private Detection” and his latest young reader title “The Great Cake Mystery: Precious Ramotswe's Very First Case" following the discussion and question-and-answer period. The author will only sign copies purchased through the National Press Club.

Come early for brunch at the Club's Fourth Estate restaurant, starting at 10:30 a.m., by purchasing the Brunch & Book ticket.

This event is cosponsored by the Club’s Book & Author and Books & Brunch committees. Proceeds benefit the National Press Club Journalism Institute. No outside books or memorabilia will be permitted.

Getting Your Book:

For those attending the event (with paid admission):
Books will be available for pick up at the event check-in for those with paid admission. The printed receipt will serve as the book voucher. You must present your voucher at the time of pick up.

For those ordering books, but not attending:
Your copy (or copies) of the book will be available for pick-up in the NPC library from April 16th-20th from 9:00-5:00 p.m. Copies not picked up in this timeframe will be forfeited.

All sales are final and no refunds will be issued. You must print off your attached tickets from Eventbrite and bring to the event for admission.
