National Press Club President Eileen O'Reilly will recognize journalist and communicator members for outstanding service to the Club at the Vivian Awards ceremony on Wednesday, December 6 at 6:00 p.m. The presentation will take place at the National Press Club in the First Amendment Lounge and is open to those Club members who are actively involved with one of the Club's 16 teams. "The Vivians" are named after former club president Vivian Vahlberg and honor the Club's top volunteers.

Francis Gary Powers, Jr., son of the famed U-2 pilot, will speak at the next meeting of American Legion Post 20. The meeting takes place at noon on Wednesday, March 27 in the McClendon Room. Powers plans to discuss his new graphic novel, Enemy Territory, and his efforts to help school kids learn about Cold War history.
