Tom Porter, the Executive Vice President for Government Affairs, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, will be the guest speaker at the National Press Club's American Legion Post 20 meeting on Thursday, Sept. 8 at 12 noon in the McClendon Room. Porter will discuss the recently passed PACT Act, which expands VA health care and benefits to veterans exposed to burn pits and other toxic substances. National Press Club President Jen Judson will recognize journalist and communicator members for outstanding service to the Club at the Vivian Awards ceremony on Wednesday, December 14 at 6:00 p.m. The presentation will take place at the National Press Club in the First Amendment Lounge and is open to those Club members who are actively involved with one of the Club's 14 teams.
