Location-based Tools Class
New Location Class September 27, 1pm In the location class we will start by discussing what location-based tools such as Foursquare and Facebook Places are and how they work. We will then look at how they can be used to gather information, identify sources, and promote yourself or your organization. There is a class fee of $20 for NPC members and $30 for nonmembers. Telling the Story with Multimedia
Prize-winning journalists Susanne Reber and Keith Jenkins, and Kathy Kiely of USA TODAY will lead a free and informative seminar on "Telling the Story with Multimedia." The two National Public Radio journalists and Kiely will share tips and techniques for riveting an audience with sound, photography, videography and more. The 90-minute seminar will emphasize practical journalism tools useful for professionals and students alike. Ms. Betancourt was abducted in 2002 while campaigning in the Colombian presidential election and was rescued in 2008.
