Veterans Affairs Secretary Denis McDonough will speak at a National Press Club Headliners Breakfast on Tuesday, October 29. McDonough will deliver an update on the state of America’s veterans and their families. McDonough was sworn in as the 11th Secretary of Veterans Affairs on February 9, 2021, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and has worked to reduce homelessness and enhance medical care for America's veterans. Political History Curator to Discuss 2024 Campaign and Election at American Legion Meeting
Dr. Claire Jerry, curator of the Division of Political History with the National Museum of American History, plans to discuss the 2024 election season at the next meeting of American Legion Post 20. Dr. Jerry will address how the museum recorded and interpreted the events of the 2024 electoral season and how those events are reflected in exhibits. The luncheon meeting takes place at noon on Wednesday, February 12 in the McClendon Room at the National Press Club. All Press Club members are invited. American Legion Post 20 has been affiliated with the Press Club for more than a century.
