NPC Luncheon with Secretary Thomas Perez, U.S. Department of Labor
Livestream starts at 1:00pm ET. U.S. Labor Secretary Thomas Perez will speak at a National Press Club luncheon on Oct. 20. Perez has been an advocate for boosting the minimum wage, and has been meeting with business leaders across the country to argue that higher wages can improve the economy. President Jacob Zuma of South Africa will be the guest at a National Press Club Speakers Luncheon at 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 4, in the Ballroom. Zuma, who was first elected president in 2009 and re-elected in 2014, will speak on the eve of the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit in Washington August 5 to 6. Two Supreme Court justices, Antonin Scalia and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, will join host Marvin Kalb to talk about the First Amendment as well as the origins and contemporary meaning of freedom.
