To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the book that forever changed Shakespeare studies, the Shakespeare Oxford Fellowship will present a free symposium on Wednesday, March 4, 1:00 pm (doors open at 12:30pm), in the NPC’s Fourth Estate Room. Covering Coronavirus: Expert Tips for Journalists and Communicators
Journalists with questions about how to responsibly and pro-actively cover the coronavirus epidemic are invited to attend an educational panel discussion next Monday evening at the National Press Club, where they will hear from top health care journalists, risk communication experts and senior public health officials. The February 10 panel discussion organized by the NPC Journalism Institute and the NPC’s professional development team, and will take place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Club's conference rooms. NPC Headliners Book Event: Mark Bowden - "The Last Stone"
Mark Bowden, the author of 13 books including the bestselling “Black Hawk Down,” will discuss his newest book, “The Last Stone,” at a Headliners Book rap at 6:30 p.m. on June 24. In “The Last Stone,” Bowden, who reported at the Philadelphia Inquirer for 20 years, returns to a 44-year-old crime that first captured his attention as a cub reporter at the now-defunct Baltimore News-American. The Lyon sisters, ages 10 and 12, disappeared on March 25, 1975, from the Wheaton Plaza shopping mall.
