Join us for a tour of the Club’s Broadcast Operations Center (BOC) at 4 p.m. Friday, March 28. Tiina Kreek and Melanie Ierardi, NPC's Broadcast Operations Managers, will provide the tour. You will go behind-the-scenes of the magic that the BOC staff performs for Club events as well as satellite media tours, media training, webcasting, and TV and video production. The facility features two studios, two post-production suites and transmission services via satellite, fiber or IP. Truman, Bacall & The Piano: A Press Club Moment

We’re Just Wild About Harry One of the highlights of the National Press Club’s illustrious history is the day in February, 1945 when then-Vice President Harry Truman played the piano to entertain hundreds of servicemen gathered in the ballroom for the weekly World War II Canteen. Also attracted to the Canteen was the 20-year-old film starlet, Lauren Bacall, who had just exploded in popularity. Seeing a chance for publicity, her agent boosted her on top of the upright piano as she draped her legs while Truman played. That became the most famous photo taken at the Club. To commemorate that…

NPC Headliners: "The Neverending Empire," Aldo Cazzullo

Aldo Cazzullo plans to discuss his book “The Neverending Empire: The Infinite Impact of Ancient Rome” at a Headliners Book Event on May 9, 2025 at 5:30 pm. Cazzullo has been reporting on major Italian and international events for 35 years. He is currently deputing managing director of Corriere della Sera in Milan.
