"Buttermilk Graffiti" Dinner at The Fourth Estate Restaurant
James Beard Award-winning Chef Edward Lee will regale diners with his tales of America's melting pot cuisines at a five-course book and bourbon dinner at the Fourth Estate restaurant on Dec. 17. Lee won recognition from James Beard Foundation for his book, Buttermilk Graffiti: A Chef’s Journey to Discover America’s New Melting Pot Cuisine. The book tells of his two-year, cross country journey to discover the culinary culture clashes that lead to exciting new American dishes. Reliable Source Jazz Night and Summer BBQ Buffet
National Press Club members and their guests are invited to attend a Summer BBQ Buffet at 6:30 p.m. July 24 in the Reliable Source. The event will feature the return of the Greater U Street Jazz Collective, a group that performed at the Reliable Source Jazz Night earlier this month. They are back by popular demand of Club members and will perform in the Truman Lounge during the BBQ. The price of the buffet is $25 for Club Members and $35 for non-members. New Member Orientation
New Member Orientation will be held this month on Friday, Nov. 15 with two options to attend. Breakfast Orientation at 8:00 a.m. or Lunch Orientation at 12:00 noon Each session will be around one hour and will go over information about your membership within the club and benefits associated. The orientation is open to any member of The National Press Club that would like to learn more about their membership opportunities. Dinner and a Movie Night
Members and guests are invited to Dinner and a Movie Night on May 9th in the Reliable Source featuring Academy Award Nominee, Quvenzhane Wallis in Beasts of the Southern Wild. The movie will begin at 7:00 p.m. Beasts of the Southern Wild highlights the life of Hushpuppy ( Wallis) in a Louisiana Bayou where optimism and fantasy take her on an adventure to find her mother in the midst of a terrible storm.
