The National Press Club Journalism Institute staff will host an open house from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18. Join your fellow foreign correspondents for drinks and discussion at the International Correspondents Committee happy hour! Son of famed U-2 pilot to speak at American Legion Post 20 Meeting
Francis Gary Powers, Jr., son of the famed U-2 pilot, will speak at the next meeting of American Legion Post 20. The meeting takes place at noon on Wednesday, March 27 in the McClendon Room. Powers plans to discuss his new graphic novel, Enemy Territory, and his efforts to help school kids learn about Cold War history. He is the founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Cold War Museum in Vint Hill, Virginia. American Legion Post 20 Meeting with Howard Hoege III
Press Club's American Legion Post Meeting to Feature Head of Mariners' Museum
The president and CEO of the Mariners' Museum and Park in Newport News, Virginia, plans to speak at the next meeting of the National Press Club's American Legion Post. Howard Hoege III will describe the museum's collection, which includes more than 200 tons of artifacts recovered from the USS Monitor. The Canadian Forces' Public Affairs Attache to Washington speaks at the next meeting of the National Press Club's American Legion Post.
