The Club's Freedom of the Press Committee, along with Reporters Without Borders, is hosting a screening of a new PBS documentary, Reportero by Bernardo Ruiz. The documentary looks at the risks of investigative journalism in Mexico. The film follows a veteran reporter and his colleagues at Zeta, the Tijuana-based independent newsweekly, as they ply their trade in one of the deadliest places in the world for members of the media. Photographer Phil West Presents a Photo Safari with the Big Five
Join the Travel and Photography Committees for an adventure through African photo safaris and photography. Our speaker, Phil West, is a wildlife photographer and safari guide based in Kenya and spent most of his childhood in Tsavo National Park. His specialty is adventure and walking/photo safaris as well as tracking big game on foot. He has led safaris all over Africa, from tracking desert elephants in the Namibian Desert and canoeing the Zambezi River, to following gorillas and chimps through the Ugandan Forests.
