YM Panel Discussion - THE 99 and Wham! Bam! Islam!
Dr. Naif Al-Mutawa, the Kuwaiti clinical psychologist and creator of THE 99, the first group of comic superheroes born of an Islamic archetype, will screen highlights from a new animated series based on the THE 99 and discuss why making it available in the United States is proving to be the greatest challenge of all. Dr. Al-Mutawa is also the subject of WHAM! BAM! ISLAM!, an upcoming Independent Lens documentary schedule to air on PBS on October 13. The director of the film, Isaac Soltaroff, will be available to take questions with Dr. Al-Mutawa.
