U.S. Economy and Competitiveness

Massachusetts Institute of Technology Economist Lester Thurow addressed a luncheon of the National Press Club on the coming revolution in the capitalist world. Citing the changes in economic history during the previous centuries of capitalism and the recent changes in the global political and economic balance, Dr. Thurow discussed how the resources and economics of capitalism will evolve through the coming decades. Issues raised by Dr. Thurow included the American education system and American economic relations. Dr. Thurow responded to questions from the audience following his prepared remarks.
