Richmond, Virginia Mayor Wilder's spoke about "Confronting the Issue of Slavery: The Unexplored Chapter of American History." He spoke about the conception of a museum devoted to the history of slavery and the contributions towards the project. Then, Mr. Vereen spoke about the United States National Slavery Museum and the impact of the movie Roots, in which he portrayed a slave. Following his remarks, Mayor Wilder responded to questions and comments submitted by members of the audience. Mr. Salant moderated the event. Program began and ended abruptly.
