June 3, 2004

About This Video

Run time: 96 minutes

Mr. Nader talked about the two-party system in the United States. He said the differences between the Democratic and Republican parties were dwindling, that the two major parties essentially conspired to shut third party candidates out, and that a number of important issues were not publicly debated or considered. He also noted that an increasing number of Americans live in non-competitive districts, where one party or the other always dominates. Mr. Nader claimed that corporations enjoy too much influence in government, and that it was time for an independent candidate to challenge the major parties. Following prepared remarks, he responded to questions from the audience.
