Young Members Committee Features Voice of Pinky and Yakko

Rob Paulsen, the voice of Yakko Warner and Pinky, the mouse that wants to take over the world, will speak at the Club at 6:30 pm Aug. 1 at an event sponsored by the Young Members Committee. Paulsen will discuss his career and experiences, answer audience questions, and sign autographs.

Paulsen has provided the voices for more than 250 characters over 30 years, including the aforementioned Warner brother and Pinky of ``Animaniacs'' fame. He was also the voice of Furrball the cat in ``Tiny Toon Adventures.''

Other characters who owe their speaking ability to Paulsen include the classic Raphael and current Donatello of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," Carl Wheezer of "Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius,'' Mac Gopher in "The Looney Tunes Show," Bird Brain in "T.U.F.F. Puppy;" Steelbeak in "Darkwing Duck," and Spike in "The Land Before Time.''

For his work, Paulsen has received three Emmy nominations, winning a Daytime Emmy Award for his role as Pinky. Paulsen has also been nominated for an Annie Award six times, winning twice for his role as Pinky and once for his role as Yakko.

Paulsen in 2011 started the “Talkin’ Toons” podcast, in which he discusses his experiences in voice acting and chats with guests such as Nancy Cartwright (voice of Bart Simpson), Debi Derryberry (Jimmy Neutron), June Foray (Rocket J. Squirrel and Granny) and Jim Cummings (Winnie the Pooh).
