Valentine's Day nears; Fourth Estate doubles your chance to catch, or send, Cupid’s Arrow

Valentine's Day is coming up next Friday, Feb. 14, and the National Press Club's Fourth Estate restaurant thinks it is too special a day to limit the celebration to a 24-hour period.

Thus, to honor the occasion, the restaurant will offer a special fixe price menu on both Friday and Saturday, Feb. 15. Dinner will be served from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. both days.

The menu, priced at $75 for a couple and $40 single, includes rack of lamb, beef, shrimp, crab-stuffed flounder and vegetarian chili rellenos. Desserts are a chocolate or raspberry heart pastry or (tongue in cheek) sour on sex lemon tart.

You can start the evening with a complimentary glass of Italian prosecco or pomegranate bellini.

The Fourth Estate's entire menu will also be available. You can check it out on the Club's website, www.press.org.

The Fourth Estate is open to members and non-members. Reservations are requested; call 202-662-514 or book through www.opentable.com; a limited number of spaces will be available for walk-in diners.

The Fourth Estate validates parking in the evening after 5 p.m. at the 24-hour PMI garage, 1325 G Street, between 13th & 14th streets, next to Epiphany Episcopal Church.
