Supreme Court Campaign Finance Case Is Subject of Oct. 1 Newsmaker

A U.S. Supreme Court case that could allow donors to give millions of dollars more than they now can contribute to federal campaigns is the subject of a Newsmaker event at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Club.

Talking about McCutcheon v. FEC will be Trevor Potter, a former Federal Election Commission chairman and founding president and general counsel of the Campaign Legal Center, and Fred Wertheimer is founder and president of Democracy 21, an advocacy group that lobbies for stronger campaign finance laws.

The event will be held in the First Amendment Lounge.
