Supermodel Christy Turlington Burns of Every Mother Counts to discuss U.S. maternal health challenges

Christy Turlington Burns, founder & CEO of the nonprofit Every Mother Counts, will appear at the National Press Club for a screening of two short films titled “Giving Birth in America” at 5 p.m. March 8 in the Club’s ballroom.

There is no charge for this event, but registration is required.

Following the screening, Club President Andrea Edney will moderate a discussion with Turlington Burns to discuss why the U.S. maternal mortality rate is so high, how Every Mother Counts is working to improve access to maternity care, and why congressional action is needed.
