The secrecy surrounding the President's Daily Briefing

If you’ve ever wondered how the president of the United States makes national security decisions, part of it comes from guidance in the President’s Daily Briefing or PDB.

The PDB is a top-secret report that’s prepared by the intelligence community on security issues around the world and presented to the president every day. It has long been shrouded in secrecy, but to help decipher it, National Press Club Broadcast/Podcast
Team member Leone Lakhani speaks on Update-1 to David Priess, a former CIA analyst and author of “The President’s Book of Secrets.”

Update-1 is produced by Mike Hempen. The podcast can be heard here on the NPC website or on iTunes, Sticher and Tunein.
