Schwarzenegger, Holder to discuss redistricting reform, gerrymandering following SCOTUS arguments, March 26

Actor and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Obama administration Attorney General Eric Holder will discuss the need for redistricting reform at a National Press Club Headliners event at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, in the Holeman Lounge.

Schwarzenegger, a Republican, and Holder, a Democrat, will speak against gerrymandering following oral arguments at the U.S. Supreme Court in two redistricting cases. The court is considering whether the Republican gerrymandering in Rucho v. Common Cause and the Democratic gerrymandering in Lamone v. Benisek are unconstitutional. A decision by the court could accelerate the state-by-state movement to redraw the maps in the 2021 redistricting process.

The event is open to credentialed media and Club members. Registration is required.
