'Putin’s Trump Card' is topic for Kalb Report April 16 at the National Press Club

Moderator Marvin Kalb plans to lead a panel of experts exploring President Donald Trump’s relations with Russia’s Vladimir Putin on the next Kalb Report on April 16 in the National Press Club ballroom.

The program begins at 8 p.m. sharp, and attendees should be seated by 7:45 p.m. Admission is free, but seats are limited. Club members can reserve by clicking here.

Scheduled to join Kalb are New York Times Chief White House Correspondent Peter Baker, Retired Marine Gen. John Allen, president of the Brookings Institution, Mary Louise Kelly, host of NPR's "All Things Considered" and Leon Aron, a scholar at the American Enterprise Institute.

Calling the relationship a "perplexing and potentially dangerous threat to our democracy," Kalb said the panel plans to talk about what Putin is trying to accomplish and whether the Trump administration is wittingly or unwittingly playing into Putin’s plans.

"Nothing appears more important today than President Trump’s relationship with Russia," Kalb said. "It is the source of a major investigation, a source of turmoil in U.S.-Russia relations and a mystery that must be resolved."
