Pursue your passion for politics at the Book Fair and Authors' Night Nov. 19

If politics is your passion, be sure you attend the 36th Annual Book Fair and Authors’ Night on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. National Press Club member Marvin Kalb will be there with his new book, “The Road to War: Presidential Commitments Honored and Betrayed,” along with Peter Baker with “Days of Fire: Bush and Cheney in the White House,” Dan Balz with“Collision 2012,” Rep. John Lewis with “March, Book One” and Debbie Wasserman Schultz, with her book,” For the Next Generation.” They will be among the 100 nationally known writers autographing and selling their books at the festive event scheduled from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

We are pleased to be partnering this year with Politics and Prose, Washington’s largest independent bookstore. “Politics & Prose offers an invaluable connection to the community of authors and book-buyers, and the Club is fortunate to have as its partner an institution held is such high esteem,” said NPC president Angela Greiling Keane.

For a tax deductible contribution of $25, you can become a “Friend of the Book Fair.” You will receive admittance to the event, as well as a complimentary raffle ticket ($10 value) for a chance to win one of a group of exciting prizes, from gift certificates to Blues Alley, Chef Geoff's, Clyde's and Cowgirl Creamery to a curator's private tour of National Portrait Gallery and Hillwood, or a Saturday night stay at the W Washington D.C. hotel. The event is a fundraiser for The National Press Club’s Journalism Institute, a 501 (c) (3) that provides training, research and resources for news professionals and scholarships for the next generation of journalists.

Admission to the 36th annual fair is $5 for Club members, $10 for non-members.
