Pulitzer winner Jon Meacham to discuss new book at Club breakfast event, June 20

Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer Jon Meacham will discuss his latest book, "The Soul of America: The Battle for Our Better Angels," at a National Press Club Headliners Book and Breakfast Event Wednesday, June 20, at 8 a.m. in the Club’s Fourth Estate restaurant.

Meacham is the author of several New York Times bestsellers including "Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power," "American Lion: Andrew Jackson in the White House" and "Destiny and Power: The American Odyssey of George Herbert Walker Bush."

This new book examines the recent level of partisanship and division in our nation and reminds us that America has "come through such darkness before."

Breakfast will be served at 8 a.m., with remarks beginning at 8:30 a.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 9:30 a.m.

Meacham will sign copies of his book after the program concludes. Tickets are $25 for Club members (Club members may purchase two tickets at this price) and $39 for the general public. When purchasing tickets for this event online, buyers will also have the option of purchasing copies of the book at check-out. Purchase tickets online here.
