Postponed: 1920s-style cocktail party, dinner slated for Thursday will be rescheduled

The Roaring 20s cocktail party and dinner featuring historian Philip Greene will be rescheduled. A new date will be announced soon.

The dinner had been scheduled for Dec. 13, but had to be postponed due to a death in Chef Susan Delbert's family.

When the dinner is rescheduled, Greene will lead a journey back to the Roaring 20s with recipes from his last book at a party and dinner at the Fourth Estate Restaurant. Diners will sample retro cocktails, including the Bees Knees and the Boulevardier, mentioned in Greene's latest book, "A Drinkable Feast."

The evening begins with hors d’oeuvres at 6:30 p.m. Dinner follows at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $75 single or $140 per couple with a copy of the book included in the purchase price (one per couple). National Press Club members will receive a 15 percent discount. Tickets can be purchased online.

Greene's two previous book dinners have sold out.

Greene is a trademark and Internet counsel to the U.S. Marine Corps at the Pentagon. He has written two previous cocktail books, "To Have and Have Another: A Hemingway Cocktail Companion" and "The Manhattan: The Story of the First Modern Cocktail." Greene is a founding member of the Museum of the American Cocktail in New Orleans.
